Overall, the splash guards seem to do the job. We have a 1/4 mile gravel driveway so mud/snow/rock splash on the painted surfaces of the vehicle can be problematic. The splash guards seem to do a pretty good job of protection. The material is a little more rigid than I expected (had thought it would be more "rubbery") however the description did say "molded" so I have to say that is accurate.Front installation is fairly straightforward although one does have to destroy some factory fasteners in order to install the replacements. I managed to install the rear units without pulling the wheels (a right angle drill is useful). Installation is not a simple bolt-on but it's not overly difficult either, just take a little time and get it right.
