In 2013 Jeep put forward the 10th anniversary Rubicon edition. Battleship gray exterior, with red seats and red interior trim (vent cover rings, grab handle, door handle trim). That trim really livened up the JK interior and while still available could be fitted to any 2013-2018 JK/JKUR. I was lucky enough for those parts to still be available when I purchased my 2015 JKUR HardRock, the successor to the 10thAnniversary edition. Almost every aftermarket red trim piece that has become available since is a take off from those 10th A pieces. I've picked up several that were never originally offered such as steering wheel spoke trim, and console and glove box key hole surrounds. The goal has always been to have all the red trim color match as closely as possible to the original pieces. Early offerings came pretty close, but as the years have gone by, the color match has become anything but a match. Such it is with these trim pieces. These are an orangish red which matches closely to the exterior paint color called Firecracker Red (which is the color of my Jeep). It does not match at all with the almost blueish red of the original pieces.Obviously, if you don't have any of the original pieces, this is not much of a consideration, thought if you have earlier aftermarket pieces, you'll find they all don't match up all that well either. So, if you don't have any previous red trim (or it happens to be of the Firecracker tint) then color no longer becomes an issue, but if you do, you will be disappointed in these. Fit is reasonable good. They have tape pre-installed and give you extra tape should you need it. The key to good adhesion is to wipe down the surfaces with alcohol to have them scrupulously free of dust, oils and grease. Then heat the surfaces with a hair dryer before attaching. A hair dryer won't get you into much trouble, but injudicious use of a heat gun can ruin your day (but hasn't happened to me yet, but I've seen others melt the plastics).Frankly, I've decided not to use these. I just don't find they enhance the looks of the pieces they are applied to--and I can't get past the imperfect color match. I have a lot of red trim pieces, but they are all functional in one respect. The red trim pieces I use are all on or surrounding controls and adjustments. They are a means to direct attention to those controls, switches and the like. The pieces with this kit would take me away from my desire to focus visual attention towards controls. Others will care about them solely as visual enhancements, and thus the value of the covers will be different based on aesthetic considerations rather than functional ones. So in the end, I give these a 4 star rating--good, but not perfect--mostly because of the failure to guarantee long term color match.
